Preserving the past to support the future
and growth of our great town.
Owner and Chef Cole Witten opened Spindle City in 2010 dreaming to help be a part of bringing new growth to Historic Downtown Gastonia.
Our space was built in 1895 and took 6 months to renovate into what it is today. With the exposed brick, original tin ceilings, and aged hardwoods, the charm of SCC is what makes it so attractive and a historical jewel.
The name Spindle City Cafe is a nod to the strong textile history that is so prominent in Gastonia. "Spindle City" was a nickname for Gastonia back in the mid 1900's and the cafe is a throwback to that.
Since our space is so special and unique, we strive to make our restaurant the same. We are proud to be a family owned small business and proud to be a staple of Main Street for 10 years now.
Over the years we have served many meals to people. We pride ourselves on the repeat customers that come in each and every week and want to make you feel at home when you are with us.
